It’s Official — Our New Office Is Open!

On Monday 1 December 2025, we proudly and officially opened the doors to our brand-new office space! It was a wonderful evening of festivities as we celebrated this exciting milestone and showcased our new home.

Our growth — and this move — has been made possible through our core funding from the Federal Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

A heartfelt thank you to Keeley Briston for opening the formalities with a beautiful Welcome to Country, and to our Chair Khami Aughterson, who was unable to attend in person but joined us from afar via video link.

We were delighted to have Mr Luke Gosling OAM MP, Federal Member for Solomon, and Ms Oly Carlson MLA join our Director Ms Nicki Petrou to perform the ribbon-cutting to officially mark this exciting new chapter for the NTWWC.

A huge thank you as well to Mr Gosling for unveiling our official plaque, and to Ms Carlson for her thoughtful speech.

We also extend our gratitude to everyone who joined us and helped make the celebration so special.

But that’s not all — we had even more to celebrate! 🎉
We also launched three major new initiatives:

💡 Our new research project
A deep dive into the experiences of women and gender-diverse people living and working in the Northern Territory — exploring both challenges and strengths to better inform policy and services.
Funded by the NT Government (NTG) Department of Youth, Seniors and Equality/People, Sport and Culture, who also provide our core NTG funding.

🚀 Best Foot Forward – our new pilot program
Supporting women to enter or return to the workforce or ensure employment security following the impacts of domestic, family, and sexual violence.
Funded by the NT Government Department of Territory Families, Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence Prevention.

⚖️ An expansion of our industrial relations advocacy service
We now offer in-house legal assistance for workplace matters — creating a seamless support pathway from initial advice and advocacy through to legal processes.

We are excited for what this next chapter will bring and grateful to our community, partners and supporters who make this work possible. 💛
