Chair

Darwin 

Khami has over 25 years’ experience in the legal industry across higher education, government, non-government and the private sector. She has extensive experience in the development of legislative, governance and strategic reform and has been a sessional lecturer in business and family law. 

Khami is a strong advocate in the community as a board member of various community organisations for over 30 years. In recognition of her longstanding contribution in the community, Khami was awarded joint winner of the Fitzgerald Human Rights Diversity Award 2024 in the NT. Khami is currently Principal Lawyer at SKL Legal. 

Secretary and Public Officer

Darwin 

Laura first moved to the Northern Territory in 2017 as a Graduate Policy Officer with the Department of the Chief Minister.

Laura has since worked across a variety of policy areas for the Northern Territory Government including gender equity and diversity, youth, seniors, women's health, domestic, family and sexual violence (DFSV) and national policy reform. 

Laura is now a Senior Summary Prosecutor with the Director of Public Prosecutions and has a particular interest in cases involving DFSV. 

Laura holds a Juris Doctor, a Bachelor of Arts (French, Spanish) and a Bachelor of Development Studies from the Australian National University. 

Vice Chair

Alice Springs

Larissa is a long-term resident of Alice Springs, having grown up in the community she continues to proudly call home. After completing her social work qualification, she returned to Central Australia to build her career and later complemented her expertise with post-graduate studies in leadership and management.

A mother of one and married to a fellow Alice Springs local, Larissa brings 30 years of experience working across the Central Australia region. Her career spans child protection, prisoner rehabilitation, and hospital social work, with roles ranging from frontline caseworker through to Director.

She has contributed her skills to several not-for-profit governance boards and currently serves with the Northern Territory Council of Social Service (NTCOSS), NT Working Women’s Centre (NTWWC) and WESNET.

Larissa was recently elected to the Alice Springs Town Council, reflecting her longstanding commitment to community advocacy and local leadership.

For the past six years, she has been the CEO of Women’s Safety Services of Central Australia—an organisation she has long been deeply committed to and one that continues to inspire her passion for working alongside women, children and families in the region.

Committee member

Darwin 

Caitlin has extensive experience in community services in NSW and the NT, including in administration, project management, service delivery and leadership roles.  

As well as working for boards of management, Caitlin has sat on a number of local, NT and national Boards and Committees.  

Caitlin is a founding member of the NT Working Women’s Centre and is currently employed as a Senior Policy Officer at NTCOSS.

Darwin

Originally from NSW Kathy has lived in the NT now for 40 years. She has lived in remote communities and in Alice Springs before settling in Darwin. 

Her professional experience is working as a teacher, a national park communicator and many different other roles in the community services sector. She is also a former employee of  the NT Working Women's Centre having been a Community Educator there in 2008-2009. 

Now retired from paid work, she is happy volunteering time to the NTWWC Committee of Management.
